Please look at the following examples. You and your partner(s) will have to decide if these situations are SEDITIOUS......and why?? or why not?? Please put all of your answers on a Word doc. You will add your homework to this document.

    1. The New York Times newspaper publishes an editorial saying President Obama has targeted Republican conservative groups using the IRS and tax laws. By doing this, these groups will have to disband or pay heavy tax fines. Is the New York Times newspaper publishers Seditious in reporting these behaviors by revealing to the public the President's wrongdoing?

    2. Students at Harvard University at a protest burn an American flag and carry posters depicting President Obama as a devil and murderer for their bombing of terrorist groups in Afghanistan----these bombings also destroyed schools and a hospital resulting in the deaths of 200+ woman and children over the last 8 years. The terrorists groups were also thought to be destroyed. They ask for the immediate resignation of the President. Are the students Seditious?

    3. At a rally with over 1,000 people, speakers declare the U.S. government as "agents of TYRANNY". They speak of the police killing young black men across the country. They ask the crowd to "go out and put the police in their place" by whatever means necessary. Is this Seditious behavior?

    4. In early 1973, the Washington Post Newspaper broke a story saying that President Nixon ordered the break in of the Democratic Party Headquarters to steal campaign documents for the upcoming election. This story destroyed the Presidency of Nixon and he eventually had to resign. Could this story have been considered Seditious?
